  • They sent me home.

My uncles funeral was on monday, and I thought I was OK, but as soon as I got into work I started crying and the sent me home.

    I hate this.

You just need time. The feelings you have are powerful now, and you won't always be able to control them. Think of it this way, the measure of a man is by how he's missed when gone. You can't change that someone is gone. You can honor their memory by continuing to love and remember them.

I just hate not being to compartmentalise. I'd had a couple of days of tears and thought I was fine and it just all came up.

This is at least the third in a year, it's just all a bit too much.

The advantage of this place over the others is that when the boys nephew committed suicide a few months ago, Sportshop didn't have enough staff so I had to go in to iopen and didn't even get a break till 11 the day I heard...

Hey, at least you didn't get fired for going to your uncle's funeral. They told me since I was still on "probation" I wasn't eligible to take "personal" days. It really angered me, because it was a retail job, and I actually woke up in the morning looking forward to coming to work. I never thought that would be possible, and it only lasted a few months.

            Olive juice you too.

              (((hugs))))

I've had to return to work right after funerals too. Everyone is different. When my grandmother died a few years ago I went right back to work the next day and I was on autopilot for a couple of weeks. Working mindlessly actually helped me cope, but it really varies from person to person.

Take a day off (if you can) and mourn. Again....((((hugs))))

I'm thinking I might take another day off today and just be in friday and saturday. I don't mind not being paid, I just can't be around people right now. People will keep asking how I am and I'll just start crying again...

A couple of days of recovery is what I need.

If this is the third then it's over for the rest of the year; in my experiance death comes in Threes.

(my grandfather, his best friend Charlie and a guy my grandfather also knew all died within the same month. Charlie died three days after my grandfather did.)

I had to go back to work the days after my friend's funeral and my granny's. Day after my granny's funeral, some SC tried to complain about me not smiling, only to be told that it was my granny's funeral the day before. When I went back to work the day after my friend's funeral, I actually broke down in tears on the tills and had to go upstairs for a while. Weird how it affected me more; I guess cuz my granny was old and it was her time to go, whereas my friend was killed young.
