  • Here I come to save the day!

    Or pretend I'm doing it!

1 more day left in my vacation...why did I schedule myself back on a Sunday?

Someone, please, stop time...I'm enjoying this whole "paid time off" thing far too much right now

Oh man... I have 3 days of paid vacation, and I'm taking an additional 2 days off in a couple of weeks. I can't wait!
    I work at Walgreens.

(I'm just tired of mentioning it every time I want to relate to a story. )

I'm taking my vacation November 14th-17th...

I normally get the 3 days in the middle of the week off, so I'll be off for 10 days...

Oh the wonders of paid time off...

Paid time off is AWESOME. We have that at my casino. I have over a hundred hours stored up. You can take as much time as you want (well usually two weeks or so. A month would be outrageous) as long as another cashier/Supervisor on the same shift doesn't have the same time wanted and if they're not black out dates.

You get like eight hours every paycheck or so.

We had an awesome co worker's husband die recently and we donated some of our PTO to her. She ended up with like three weeks PTO from us in the cage. It was one of the nicest things I have ever seen/done.

Ditto! I want paid time off! (There's a burp in the system, I don't get paid time off. But I'd go crazy without work anyways)

Disgustingly enough, the topic title is generally how I feel about work right now.

Move to Finland... The Law here states 1,5 months per year of paid vacation time.
If you work part time the math gets a tad tricky, but you still get paid time off with same ratio.

I was once just about worked to death for 5 months at a place, and was able to bank up the overtime for paid time later.

I took a full month off to go and ride trains. And still had two more weeks to take off later in the year on the banked time alone.

Yeah - it was very hard to get back to work after that long off.
