remodeling

Okay so this isn't as bad as it could be, but it's wearing on me thin.

Currently on our hotels' webside there are red letters at the top of the page. They say that we are under remodeling, but still open.

Okay, people have called to ask the details like what kind of remodeling, which is fine.

What I don't get is people seem to really think we are doing remodeling during the night time. Uh no, we aren't that dumb. I have to reassure people that it will only be during day-time hours. But, remodeling really screws with people's heads, as I am sure EQ understands.

Course, people bitch when things are outdated and bitch when things are being fixed, there isn't a fine happy inbetween place.

And what is our remodeling? Well, very little that makes noise! We are laying down new carpet, putting up new wallpaper, replacing old tv's, updating to fridges/micro standard in all rooms, and duh duh duh the pool floor is being re-done. "Remodel" to some people must mean we are tearing down walls.

Also, in the front desk brilliance, some of our people are too retarded to explain to people this is minor remodeling. So I have been finding requests that demand to be away from the remodeling....riiight... So will us replacing the tv next door disturb you? And, of course, these other people I work with seem to have no idea what is going on when people ask about our remodel. Ladies & gentlemen, pay the frig attention & actually show up for our meetings.

that's why for our in room stuff we are NOT putting on our website that we are remodeling... why because we are replacing TVs, replacing mattresses, and adding microwaves and refridgerators... nothing that will disturb guests... only lower our available rooms... now we will have to advertise it when we get around to replacing the carpet and will have to deal with suck then... but as far as corp is concerned we are allowed to take the rooms out of inventory for "preventative maintanence" as long as it doesn't disturb other guests and not advertise what we are doing... of course the down side of that is we won't be able to put "newly remodeled" on the website until after we do the carpet sense we are classifying the rooms as preventative maintanence, but it cuts down on the suck (and lost revenue from people going "omg, remodal, we can't stay there " )

Yeah, I am not sure why they posted it...perhaps they want people to know we are improving for future guests. Whatever it is, oh the frantic guests!
