  • Bad Economy=Bad Customers

Not sure if this is really the right place, but. . .
Would all of you agree that our bad economy is making our customers suckier? Personally, I think so.

My coworkers and I have said the same thing! Ours at least, have been getting crabbier and crabbier as of late. (Before the holiday season came upon us)

I wouldn't doubt it, although I haven't really seen customers get too much suckier.

The fuckwhackers must think they pwn us now because the economy is bad or something.

This is also the beginning of the Christmas shopping season, and it does always turn people crankier and crabbier.

          But

I understand store profit margins are taking a big hit. Does this mean that it is getting harder to scam freebies?

They're already getting freebies galore now using their "Five-Finger" discount. What the Hell else do they want?

I am getting tired of people bitching to ME about why they haven't gotten any bailout yet.

Because as we all know, lowly cashiers do in fact, have godly powers.

This is why I've done the majority of my shopping over the net. Easier and I don't have to deal with the idiot people who are in my way as I try to get what my family wants/needs. This way, I'm a happy Rum, not a cranky one.

I haven't noticed it, but the economy was already spiraling the shitter when I went to cashier

People will return anything and everything now, it seems. It's just worse than before.

People will return items that are literally less than two dollars, and all of them will say, as I'm processing the transaction, that every little bit counts, right?

I've had several people bitching about prices lately... unfortunately, a lot of our stock comes from the US and is affected by the summer's high fuel prices; the trickle-down effect of the increasing costs is just reaching us a retail level. So we've seen some food prices go up. Not by much, for the most part, and we still have the lowest prices in town for the stuff, but people still like to bitch and moan and whine and say it's not fair they have to pay more "with the economy so bad"... *facepalm* (I'm dying to know what, exactly, they think "the economy being bad" actually means if not prices going up??)

... and then they drive away in a FREAKIN LEXUS SUV that is bigger than my damn HOUSE and I really can't muster up a lot of sympathy!

I'm really wondering about the economy, seems like people are buying more then spending less. At least where I work anyways. I've rung up more people that spent more money in the last two days then I have in the last two months. Maybe it's just me. O.o

But, no I haven't taken notice of how anything with the economy has affected customers. They are still rude little turds, wanting to know they can't get 50% of something that isn't on sale. D:
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

Yes, because everyone is in a bad mood and taking it out on the little guy. Cuz that totally makes sense right?!

We have had to jack up our prices because food is getting expensive. Our "Dollar double cheeseburgers" will be going up to $1.19. I get complaints about prices ALOT. My (mental) response?
