I started my new hotel job today.
<Broken Hotel> (which I might divulge AFTER I hand in my old uniform and badge) had finally cut my hours enough so I couldn't foresee making rent. So I went and got a new job at another hotel a half mile closer to home.
The first part of my first day was general paperwork. Filling out things like tax info, signing releases for badges, that sort of thing. This new hotel even has Direct Deposit which means I don't have to make a special trip to pick up my paycheck and go to the bank! YAY!
The second part (which was the biggest chunk) was spent watching a very boring "video" about how to use the hotel system. Just so you know; it's a program called Opera (which isn't only used by this hotel so I think I can freely say it without you guys finding out for sure where I work). At least I was forewarned; it really is the most BORING thing I have ever watched. Every hour someone walked by and asked if I was asleep yet.
The last "hour and a half" (which turned into 2 and a half because I was having so much fun) was spent watching my new co-workers work, answer phones, have a tour of the hotel and meet the rest of the staff.
IT WAS AWESOME! I'm soooo happy to be working in a operational hotel again!
