  • Pizza Place People!

So I called to order a pizza tonight, and as I was trying to make myself understood to the guy taking my order, it suddenly occurred to me that every time I call to order a pizza (no matter the store) it sounds like the person on the other end is in Antarctica. It always crackles and there's tons of static.

I mentioned it to my husband and he said he wondered the same thing.

Is this normal for all pizza places, or just the ones around here? And do I sound as faint to the order guy as he does to me?

depends, our local pizza hut uses a call centre in calgary

we are about 10-12 hours from there

thats why we use the place thats literally underneath us, locally owned by a couple who work there

it may be the phone system/equipment the store uses.

our phone hand sets have a microphone that literally picks up any and all background noise including music, venting hoods, oven noise, HVAC, dishmachine, conversations, doors opening/closing, cooler/freezer condencers on the roof, etc. and no I am not trying to be funny either. they do pick up all of that noise to the point I have to sometimes place a finger over the microphone just to hear what the customer is saying.

and that is not counting the background noise on the customers end ie. loud music, loud conversations, yelling screaming adults/kids/babies, traffic noise, etc.

or it could be the physical phone line into the store itself. It could be getting old or the stores network interface is bad
