  • We all got to go home early

PA is being hit with a snowstorm/ice storm/whatever, so they closed the call center I work at early. I was only at work for 3 1/2 hours, but I get paid for all 8 hours of my shift.

Right now, I'm being paid to be in my pj's chatting with you guys.

They did that to our Milwaukee (sp?) call center for AT&T today, so us in Arizona got 3 hours OT manidtory tonight, lol 12 hour day for me, great for wallet!

        But still Lucky you!

Sometimes we get that at the research center for hurricanes, or the occasional dusting of snow (it's Mississippi, they don't handle snow at all).

For us, if the local schools are shut down or sent home early, we tend to be as well.

Well, my children didn't have school today, but that doesn't mean much to the call center I work at. They very rarely ever shut down or send us home early.

On behalf of this retail grunt,

The clearance swamp and dog bordello closes for no snowstorm. Nothing short of the impending end of the world will close it down. All the employees would have to be paid for their entire shifts if it did close.

So instead we all sit in the store with nothing to do because there's very few customers and we eventually run out of things to do.

And no, I don't get to call out for snow. I live too close to the store to do that.

There is nothing sexy about my pj's. Now if I said I'm wearing what my husband wants me to sleep in, that would be a tease.

Hey, Mis, do you happen to work for a certain agency headquartered in Horsham?

as long as 5 associates and 1 manager can make it in my store stays open. we have 520 associates and 15 managers, many drive trucks/SUVs that could get through anything that could fall before the snowplows got out

anything under a foot on the roads and I can make it, and we have people who can get through a lot more than me
