    make it stop

    Seriously... this winter storm needs to stop. Yesterday I did 40 distressed passenger check ins... today I did 41... we may be getting as many every day of this week.

    Today it stayed busy for so long that I didn't even finish checking people in until 1:30... then spent about half an hour just cleaning up from the rush (getting reg cards put away, programming in wake up calls, etc)... then finally at 2am I was able to start the audit... only problem, 2am is when I'm supposed to be finished with the audit
    So today my audit was completely nearly an hour late.

    Oh and the morning is going to be chaos, sheer chaos... I not only have our own shuttle full, but we've also filled our overflow service and will have to fall back on at least one cab company (this will be fun to explain to the owner).

    This is what we get to look forward to all week.

    So I guess what I'm saying, is smiley needs a hug... and some good wine... maybe something stronger this time.

    Why would the owner be upset? Shouldn't they be tickled to sell 40+ rooms that weren't originally reserved, or am I missing something?

      because when I overbook a shuttle we have to pay per person for our overflow service... today we'll spend AT LEAST $48 extra for shuttles. After you factor in the commission that pays GK we make $50 for a distressed passenger if the airline is paying and $64 if the guest is paying, so, we just blew the revenue of an entire room on overflow shuttle service. Of course, the extra revenue far outweighs the extra cost, that is still a huge cost to pay.

          Oh My. You have my sympathy. Stranded airline passengers over Christmas...not nice!
