So, today I found a dog wandering around the gas station where I get food in the mornings. No one there knew who the dog went to, so I took him with me to work.
Long story short, I played phone tag with Animal Control and the Humane Society (whose records show that the dog's been missing since October 19th), and kept trying to reach the owner. Owner's son turns up about 1ish, and takes the dog home.
His mom was out of town, and the dog took himself for a walk last night.
Second thing: we are on a hiring freeze at work until the beginning of the next fiscal year (October). We had to fire three people in as many days. First was on a bit of probation and kept calling out. Second kept changing her schedule mid-week, and NCNS. Third NCNSed. A lot. When the manager got a hold of him at 10ish this morning and told him to be in at 12 (he was scheduled for 8) he said he couldn't make it (he lives about 20 min. from work.)
Also, one of our staff left (moving out of state) and another is going away when her next semester starts. It's going to be fun.
