Not sure where else this would be best, hope this works...

Of course, people leave things in completely random places, so at the end of the day employees need to straighten stuff up and put these orphan bits of product away.

So far, in my last 2 months of general retail (have worked in an office, in a bookstore, and in several restaurants besides) my favorite handful of stuff to come out of an aisle with has been coming out of the "baby stuff" aisle with: a stuffed duck wearing a sombrero and singing "the Chicken Dance song," a package of condoms, and a busted bottle of strawberry-flavored lube.

Not all together, but still, kind of fun to wonder about.... *grin*

I f*ing hate go backs. Our store ALWAYS has had a problem with them. If it were up to me what I would do is gather all of them up (save for the perishables and expensive items) put them in a big cart, get a sign and write the words free on it and set it outside. Guaranteed the go backs will be gone within minutes.

What is this "straightening" and "putting away returns" of which you speak?

At my store, the floor people often push the full carts of returns to the back room and put signs on them indicating they're autopulls needing to be filled. As if we didn't have enough stuff to do in the mornings...
