I love my supervisor. I work at my local newspaper in circulation. He has bolt cutters there in his office for the main reason is that if the paper boxes (the ones that you put money in and take out a paper). We have over 90 vending machines around three counties and there are some very old locks. locking those vending boxes to some very old chains. So that's the real reason he has them. Well, this reporter who comes in our office to chat sometimes, and he asked about them, and the answer he got was, he told the reporter this, and also posted the answer in his blog:
They're used for motivation, if my staff steps out of line. I cut their pinkie off from the second knuckle up. I understand why he didn't believe me, but it's still a better answer.
