Failure to Communicate

When I first started working, during my training I remember being told to ALWAYS check ID for checks. Always.
Also during my training no one ever told me to check credit cards for signatures.

That was about a year and a half ago. A few months ago I come to find out that we have to check credit cards ALWAYS. Ok...So I do.
Then today I find out that I don't ever need to see an ID for a check unless the computer asks for one.

I'm glad I know what's going on now...geez

I may be a bit paranoid but did you get that in writing or get given a revised staff handbook?
