PART 1: http://www.customerssuck.com/board/s...ad.php?t=45405
Wow, where do I start with this one? Just..wow. So today started out perfectly normal ,with me going in to cashier until 6:45. It ended with me getting yelled at at work...again.
So it was about 6:20 when I was taken back into the offices for another chat. You can imagine what I was thinking. I was scared as hell I was about to be as they put it, terminated. It was deja vu all over again as she read to me a report that another GSTL had written last week. Yep, more guest complaints. One of the complaints was that I was "rude and very innapropriate" when I told a guest that I was closed. The only time I EVER told a guest I was closed that day was when it was time for me to leave. After flipping off my light, guests tried to keep coming. I politely said something along the line of, "Oh, I'm closed here." Does that sound rude? Innapropriate? You tell me. Hmmmm.....you know, it's hardly my fault that we have an extreme shortage of cashiers and I have to tell you I'm closed. If you want to voice a complaint to my supervisor because of that, then...well, you're not the kind of person I wish to have any contact with in my life, ever.
Another complaint said that the guest noticed that I seemed very fustrated with the card reader. That could possibly be because I AM very fustrated with the card readers! They're grabage! (reeally trying not to use profanity to describe them here). But I can assure you that I have never lost my TEMPER concerning these pieces of...junk. The most I have ever done is sigh and made a comment like "it's a piece of junk" and politely ask them to try swiping again, or if that doesn't work, swipe myself. Yes, I have shown some irritation when I am at the third lane and on the third card reader of the day and suddenly I hear the pen jabbing the screen and the guest going "Okkaaaay...It's not woorking!!" If it pisses you guys off so much, how do you think we like it dealing with the pieces of crap through a long shift? If you get your panties in an uproar because your cashier was somewhat visibly annoyed by the card reader, than you REEAALLY need to get your priorities in order.
So, to sum it up, I am on thin ice at work now. I'm told I'm on final warning (I thought I already was, but I guess not) now and that the situation is critical. I was absolutely livid upon hearing this. I got in my car had to call a friend and just...yell. Blow off steam. I was just furious over the whole situation. I want to just...pound the horn over and over again until I passed out, exhausted. I can't believe this bullshit is continuing. What kind of petty "guests" do we have in our store? What is wrong with these people????
I'm going to have to try to get back to working on the floor and stop being a cashier, because this just isn't working. The bottom line is, I'm going to be fired if I stay there. Any day now. There's no getting around it. The guests have a real fucking problem with me, and they want my blood. Why...I don't know. Apparently, they're misinterpreting my crippling shyness as being rude. Also, apparently, they are horrible, petty individuals who have nothing better to do than to try to get me fired for ridiuclous percieved offenses. Really, I can't believe I'm even talking about this happening again. It's just so ridiculous.
