I'm going back to school

So after a lot of thinking and soul searching, I have decided I am going back to college. I have a degree, it's about time I put it to good use.

I am going to go into teaching. However, it is too late in the year to apply for any of the courses I am interested in, so it will be another year before I go back to college.

So until then, I guess I'm just going to have to grin and bare it in the bar world for another year! I used to love working in bars, but now it's reached a point where I dread going into work. I have taken that as a sign that I should leave.

Good choice! Knowing you're not going to be stuck there forever will help on the hard days. Take it from someone working in a call center!

That sounds fantastic, what key stage you looking at teaching?

I am so convinced I am making the right decision now. It may mean going back to university for a few years, and putting myself in even more debt, but hey! The hospitality trade isn't for me anymore. I've stopped caring about customers, and find myself disliking the nice ones.

Well, if you have a relevant degree you only need do a PGCE, which is a one year course I believe.

My husband says that he would rather work forever at a job he enjoys than retire early from one that he hates.

He works in a psychiatric hospital, btw!
