Almost all woodland animals are dangerous for some reason or another. If the animal itself isn't dangerous, it will more then likely attract an animal that IS dangerous. And even deer can be dangerous. A cornered deer will lash out wildly kicking in any direction it can. That could lead to a rather serious injury.
Moral of the Story: Stay the fuck away from any animal you don't personally know!! Especially if it's wild.

There's no doubt it was a rat - it had the tail, nose, movement etc. of a rat, there's no way it could have been anything else! And it was a HUGE rat!

It could be a nutria. I've seen them in real life, and they can be quite...startling. In any case, I would suspect there was something seriously wrong with the rodent if it was attacking the guard like that.

If you're near florida it may be one of these

3 pounds and 35 inches long-brought in as pets and "got free", which would also explain it's friendliness-it may have been an escaped or released pet.
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

I used to live in Dana Point, CA. Some people say it's the "Skunk Capital of California." I never really believed that until one day i had to run from my office to my car to get a document I needed for a meeting.

I went flying down the stairs and freaked out when i found 2 skunks at the bottom of the stair well. At first, I was afraid of running through them. I didn't want to jump over them and risk scaring them and making them spray. Trying to stop was a debacle as i started to stumble and then had to jump over them anyway. They ended up getting startled and running off. THANKFULLY they didn't spray anything.

The skunk has already been startled before, thankfully didn't spray, just ran off. Those things can haul some serious ass. But you never know, one of these days, it MAY just spray instead!
