  • incident report from last night

This is the exact incident report (edited to remove names). If I ever get a hand on either of my coworkers reports I may post them too... truly, it is never a good sign when within 15 minutes of starting you are having to answer the question "911, what is your emergency?"

Re: paramedic call to rm 140

I do not know what happened prior to my coming on shift at 22:50. (coworker) mentioned that the guest in room 140 was in a wheelchair and likely would need assistance throughout the night. He also mentioned that Greyhound dispatch had told him the guest, (guest), had an infection in his leg and were coordinating with (shuttle driver) to have him pick up the guest’s luggage at Greyhound because the guest needed medication in the luggage.
At approx 22:55 Greyhound drivers (driver1) (rm 148) and (driver 2) (rm 103) checked in. Both mentioned that dispatch was still working on getting (guest's) bags worked out. Shortly after that (driver 1) came to the desk to report that while she was walking to her room she had heard someone in room 140 screaming in pain and asking for help, I would estimate this occurred at approx 23:05. (coworker), being more familiar with (guest's) situation went to see what was happening. Shortly after, (coworker) came back to the desk and asked me to dial 911 for him, I would estimate this was about 23:10.
At this point I took over the desk, and (coworker) handled most of the goings on with (guest) and assisting the paramedics. We were able to get (shuttle driver) to pick up the guest’s medication and deliver it to the hospital which he was taken to, LDS Hospital.
That is all the information I have regarding the situation. Please refer to (coworker) or (shuttle driver) for additional information regarding the incident.

I would never trust medication to be out of my personal belongings. Especially when travelling, because there are just too many opportunities for things to go horribly wrong.

no shit ... i also travel with a spare copy of each prescription just in case [will my military ID I can get onto any military installation we have anywhere for medical treatment and use the dispensaries on the bases as well] and I have my medical history on a flash drive as well. I pack my bottles in the regular luggage, but I have one of those am/pm 7 day pill boxes that goes into my purse. My nightmare is being stuck somewhere and having both a CPPD flare and a migraine and not having my colchicine/indocin/frova/phenergan with me. Talk about your major suck!

I hope the poor guy got his meds finally!
