    Hey hey.

    I just thought I'd share this with you all, and perhaps give some hope for those in need.... (Fireheart?)

    As I've posted in other areas, there's been a long running issue with certain.... 'elements' in our team. It reached a certain point... the point where the team leader jumps in and 'lays down the law'. This 'law', like all workplace laws, is supposed to be 'fair' on everyone, which of course means, it's not, and is only made so that management doesn't need to actually do their jobs properly.

    Hence, this series of emails which I shall copy and paste (and remove incriminating and crapful stuff...) in order:

    Hi Slyt, we did speak about this and yes *annoying dickhead* has done it plenty of times but now we have all spoken about the rules I have set out, you’re the one still doing it, please use only *issue* and we are all trying to do the right thing so agents don’t get annoyed with one another. We will talk about this further but I am not going to debate all of this over and over. TA
    (this was CC'ed to our TL manager, who responds about a week later:

    The solution is that *issue* and then there is no issue.
    To which I chose to respond thusly:

    Well, actually, that isn’t a ‘solution’ (at least, nothing effective that treats all agents as mature adults, rather than as children (and yes, I’m feeling like I’m being treated as an errant child… probably because that’s how we are being treated – why stop the 2 teams by taking the ball away, just because of a couple of players who won’t play nice together?? Doesn’t work as kids – works even less so as adults) ), so it obviously is still an ‘issue’… which just as obviously I’m going to have to take to authorities outside of this call centre to have effectively resolved J (because, well, I’ve already got this ‘issue’ resolved with the relevant people – so we don’t have any issues!)

    Why did I post this?

    Because of what came after all this. I had a OoO (One on One) with my TL about this about a week after, and you know what she said?

    "You're absolutely right".

    Also, because I had already resolved this with the other relevant people, she was "glad that I actually did that, because no-one else is".

    So, if you're copping crap from management, treat them like adults, and maybe - just maybe - things will work out for the best.

    (btw - the end of that conversation, and she had rescinded that rule! Well, that's what she told me )
