Yep, Dumber gave me a jingle today.
I stated, quite clearly, that I will NOT take ANY less money for the work I do. Dumber thinks that her bullshit explanations will bring me around to her level of incompetence.
Dumber is wrong.
So, she asked me if I received her explanation. I told her that I had, and that my answer is the same (not accepting a discount for the work I do, once I go beyond the arbitrary limit she and Dumb set for us). She kept trying to justify their actions. I would not have any of it.
"But my explanation..."
"I'm not interested," I interrupted. "You want the same work, in the same quality, for less money. You're trying to steal money from us with this decision, and you have no legal basis, or right, to do so. If you're concerned about saving money for the company [yes, she did indeed try to pull that one on us!], you can either take a decrease in pay yourself, or you can quit."
She wasn't pleased.
I continued: "There have been many complaints already, and there will be more, until this is settled. I will take this matter as high as I have to."
Much silence from Dumber.
"Now. Is there anything else?"
"No, I think that's all."
Damn well better be. I've run into that type before; give them an inch, and they take a mile. I wasn't about to state my case, either, because the more you talk about your reasons, the more material you give them for their own attempts at justification. I told her how things stand. And I am taking this further.
