Musack here is set to managerial-inoffensive "Gold Rock" or "Classic Rock and Roll" or something.
On the other hand, I was at the supermarket the other day and laughing to myself while I did shopping while listening to the Beastie Boys on their system. You gotta fight! For your right! To parrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrty!
- My first complaint is the service itself. It's provided by Canada-wide Galaxie Music Service. This isn't a bad thing. However if you're going to go around branding yourself as a full music network, you *may* want a playlist longer than 40 hours on each station. This is my main complaint. And if it was taken care of I wouldn't even mind...
- Some of this stuff is good and stands the test of time. Unfortunately some of it is only broadcast because it's "old" and the definition of classic seems to be based more on age (and licensing rights ease) rather than quality of the song.
- The receiver for the service (and the volume control) are locked away in a manager's office. A manager who I don't report to and aren't even in the chain of command of. And yet it's main point of broadcast is in front of me all day long. Often times it gets quiet and I'm the only one working in this area too.
- Both Surfin' Bird and Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow are on the playlist. What have I done to deserve this hell?
