So I called and asked for X person. Unfortunately, I had X person's name wrong. This happens a lot, such as calling my sister's boyfriend the wrong name for over a year. The woman decides that I am not really transferring and tells me that there are no open positions and they are on a hiring freeze. She goes on to say that I need to try after the 1st of the year. Then she hangs up on me.
Granted, I do stutter a little bit and I did get the guy's name wrong. So I call back and insist on a manager. No offense, but I wanted to talk to HR because he took my name down two weeks ago and I wanted to know if they did have a position open. I wanted to talk to him for a reason. Yes, she may have been told to tell people that but I was calling in about a transfer request. Transfer requests are handled different from people open hiring.
