I don't think I've ever referred to her as this on here, though I'm pretty sure she's shown up in some of my SC tales once or twice. We have a regular we call the Blue Hat Lady, who comes in about twice a week. The name comes from the fact that she almost invariably wears a blue felt hat with a blue flower on it. But what she's really known for are her coupon buys. Blue Hat Lady never pays full price for anything, and I've seen her knock about 80-90% of the cost of her purchase with her coupons.
But today on UScan, another customer outdid her, getting her entire order free aside from sales tax thanks to having a coupon for each of her 33 items. Here's how it worked:
Nestle Drink: 1.79
Kroger Plus Discount: -0.79 (sale price was $1)
Manufacturer's Coupon: -0.50
Bonus Coupon: -0.50 (our computer automatically doubles any non-store coupons up to 50 cents)
Final price: $0
I checked to make sure, and there were no limits on the coupons aside from expiration date (a month away still) and the obvious "one per item purchased" rule.
Here's a copy of her receipt that I typed up (minus any identifying information like store number): (link)
