had an interview today... not going to talk too much about it cos i don't want to jinx things, but a few things stood out in my mind.
job is working with a "solutions" company
The interviewer told me that there would be pros and cons to the job and started to talk about the challenges - customers who delay the project but still want it on overtime, all the multi tasking, etc...
but the more he talked about it the more fun it sounded. and yeah i understand customers who screw up projects (thanks to stories here and to stuff i heard about in some of my programming classes)
oh and that was the "con" stuff.
Me: That was the "bad"?
seriously it sounded like fun.
The good apparently was the compensation and benefits. such as the company would provide me whatever tools i needed - smart phone, ipad.
All I could think was "um phone?... whatever. the job sounds great!" (didn't say it though but yeah i was more interested in the work not a free phone)
cos maybe it's me but... if they pay me enough I'll just buy my own phone. A company phone? That's just for them to get ahold of me on and for me to do work on. I don't know if they can legally monitor it but ... If they're giving it to me, I kinda expect it. I'll just have 2 phones then.
but anyway, hopefully. i'm not holding my breath (cos no matter how promising a job is, i don't count the eggs until I'm actually being told "come in to work at this date/time")
