  • Agony by night, work by day

Either last Sunday or Monday, I did something to my neck muscles. Every night since, I've woken up at 1 - 2am in convulsions. Jaw in rictus, legs spasming, shivering uncontrollably, in utter agony. This lasts about an hour until I'm almost screaming from it, then fades off.

Then about 11am every morning, my neck freezes completely. Every step becomes agony, I can't move my neck at all, the muscles contract and pull my head down towards my shoulders. This time it doesn't go away until I take massive amounts of painkillers.

Any suggestions on what the hell is going on? The doc says it's a pulled muscle, but I can almost set a clock by the times it'll happen, which is strange beyond belief. It's not food, I never have the same things each day, and if it was tetnus, I would have gotten sick and stayed there, not have this fade-in-and-fade-out affair.

    Any ideas?

It's probably *not* your potassium levels, but I'd take some for a few days to see if that solves the issue. You may need a doctor's prescription to obtain some, unfortunately. You could also try some high-potassium foods such as bananas.

      Wow, that sounds incredibly scary.

Has your doctor done a blood workup? There's a dozen different things that could be out of whack as regards nutrition and vitamins and one or more can lead to such issues.

This. In fact, I would recommend going to the ER or a good walk-in clinic ASAP.
