One of my paper route customers is a business that hires a security guard to watch their campus on weekend nights, which means I see them Monday mornings. They use the same security firm that Hubby works for, though he's not familiar with this particular guard. (Hubby used to work this particular site himself about a year ago, during which time I would bring him coffee on my delivery.) Normally the guard leaves when the first employee shows up Monday morning.

This morning as we passed the guard's car:
    Hubs: "I think he's asleep."
    Me: "Really?"
Hubs: "Yeah, I think so. Oh look, she [the first employee] is already here. Oooh...she probably saw that."

As we looped back after making the delivery, I looked in the car and sure enough, the guard's eyes are closed, his head was tilted back and to the side, and it even looked like he was possibly drooling on his shirt.

    Me: *honks horn*
    Security Guard: *bolts awake*

Yeah, I had my window rolled down and that guard saw both me and Hubs laughing our asses off at him as we slowly cruised past. The look of shock on the guard's face was absolutely priceless.

Hubs won't rat him out (he sympathizes on how boring that particular site is), but if the morning employee saw him then he could be in trouble if she complains.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

Man, if it's boring he should bring a book or something, that way at least he's still awake and have some sense of spacial awareness.

I seriously doubt he is of fey origin and had max passive perception going on.
    My Writing Blog -Updated 05/06/2013
It's so I can get ideas out of my head, I decided to put it in a blog in case people are bored or are curious as to the (many) things in progress.

      o my.

i can't say i've never done that (and been written up for it) but... yeah. he might want to think of something else to do vs just sitting in the car.

if he's suppose to be on guard, it's likely they expect him to patrol sometimes too.

My granddad works security and has said more than once how boring it gets :s Especially working nights - He always brings his newspaper with him.

Still better than the other security site he worked for. But they all seem boring from the stories I've heard :P
