Over the past few years, I've ran several Kickstarter campaigns to try and raise startup funds that will ultimately allow me to leave corporate life and run my own business: A craft distillery for a specialty rum.
This is made all the harder by the fact that I'm not allowed to offer product coupons or rewards of any type related to alcohol on the rewards.
Some of the favorite private messages I've received
"It's hard to donate to something that I've never seen. You should send me some samples to be cool"
"If you give me some samples then I can tell other people about it. It'd be great exposure!"
"I'll be happy to donate $1 to your campaign, you should totally back mine to for $20!"
I weep. And there are few things more sad than a crying fat pirate
