Is gross. And rude. And sometimes considered assault if it hits another. Laugh if you want, but one of my worst fears is seeing a person hock a loogie into the road, and then a wind gust blows it back at me. Actually, that kind of happened before...once I was talking to this close talker, and this stranger was talking so fast that he spat on me, unintentionally. Still, it was gross. I'm not a germphobe, but it was gross. I couldn't wait to wash my face.
Anyway, it has something to do with my story promise.
I was in a car waiting for a traffic light. The intersection was right on a funeral home. A bunch of cops with their lights flashing came out of the home. One parked in the middle of the street, got out, and started directing the traffic.
Nothing bad about that so far, right? Ok, so I was waiting and a bunch of other cars came out in a funeral procession. Waiting, and I watched. Finally the hearse came out. I like to pay my respects to the dead, so I uttered a sympathetic prayer for the deceased. As I was doing so, I saw the cop who was directing traffic, turn his head as the hearse passed him, and spit at it right in front of everybody!!
I was shocked. Glancing at the other cars in the intersection, they looked the same. Finally the procession was over and the cop jumped into his car and drove off.
Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill but I think it's very disrespectful, as someone who has to put an example for good people, to do. If it were my loved one being spat upon, I'd have something to say to the PD.
What do you all think???
