So I am visiting my mama for spring break cause I wanted to visit my doctor and i needed to sit in and observe a classroom for my class.
I don't drive so to get from Flagstaff to almost Mexico I had to take the bus for at least part of the way. Can you guess what that means? Yep crazies!
Waiting Forever
So I have little to no faith in my ability to travel by city bus to get the bus station on time (I would have to hope the A line was running and still have to walk a half or quarter mile to get there, if the A wasn't running I would have to walk a mile or more to get there) thus I called a taxi. Im given a 20 minute wait which I decide to spend in the office as I can be in closer to the better pick up area. I talk to an RA I like about things available on Netflix that are fun to watch (I recommend Jessica Jone, The punisher movie cause im easy and the Warriors). After 18 minutes I go outside and wait there. 15 minutes more go by and Im concerned. I call the the company again.
The dispatcher is another driver Ive had before who is surprised that the driver isnt there yet and says she'll call him to see whats taking him so long.
5 minutes later I get a call from the driver. Who says he is 5 minutes away and then asks me to meet him at the bottom of the hill.
I am very annoyed by this as A) its close to an hour of waiting now and B) me walking down the hill isn't really saying him time and just inconveniencing me.
I do it though and he shows up after a few minutes, doesn't appologize and then when he drops me off charges me more than any other driver has for this ride for less distance than others had to drive. I'm pretty sure he charged me for part of his drive to me at least.
If it wasnt for the fact this company is one of the most reliable in town I would not use them again. Also it was a damn good thing that I had called for my ride with more than an hour buffer out of paranoia cause I got there with just around 30 minutes to spare
All Aboard for the crazy train
I get to the bus station which is full of college boys with backpacks. Some spring breakers who went hiking in the grand canyon and where finishing up their break in Vegas. Since this a tiny station i decide to sit in an outside area to enjoy a bit of the nice weather while i wait the 20 minute remaining for my bus. This woman walks up and asks what the bus in the station is.
I answer that I was told it was a Phoenix one but that the 1:45 was about 20 minutes away.
She says ok, looks around, stares at us sitting the outside area and the says 'When I leave you need to call 911. Telling Everything I said was true and I just want to get out'
We all stare out her, confused. She seems to realize this and says 'You have to wait until I'm gone. I'm not crazy. I've been in that psych ward before and I can't go back there'. We are starting to get a little uncomfortable and she seems to see that and says 'Just call 911 when I leave. But wait for me to leave ok.'
She then grabs her bag and walk over to the smoking area and seems to be talking to some women sitting there. I ask the others sitting there if they know whats shes on about, and am told no, this was the first time they ever talked to her and had no idea what that was. We told the attendant stacking bags to load up about her and he says he'll talk to her as hes seen her before.
The mom next to me comforts her son who is now actively scared and trying to hide beside her and telling her hes afraid and the attendant comes back, tells us the woman was yelling at the woman in the smoking area and is now on the phone with 911 herself. We kind of laugh uncomfortable. I watch her walking around frantically talking on the phone, decide as nice as the weather is she seems like the type to be dangerous and I say weird cuts on her arm that looked fresh and could have been self done or not since they where all at odd angles. So I go inside, stand around the packages and chat a bit with the college boys about the fun of stats and logic.
After enough time passes there is an announcement for my bus to get ready to load and I get in line, of which cray lady is in front of. I hear her telling the woman behind her something and catch the last bit of the sentence '... and I've done meth recently so I know that will be in my system but I'm rambling so I'll shut up.' The woman looks over at me (she had been sitting outdoors with me before) with a look of concern and discomfort. We both inch away from her a bit and try and keep our distance. She hands her ticket to the driver who gives her a hard look and tells her if shes any trouble shes off the bus right away. She agrees and is allowed to board. Me and the woman in front of me board and choose to sit next to each other as far away as possible from her and commit to one another that we would all 911 or selves but I didn't want to call them when they had already been called and she didn't have a phone that could make any calls at the moment.
As the rest of the passengers board the bus I see a 18 or 19 girl about to sit next to the crazy lady but before she can the driver and attendant approach the woman and pull her from the bus. I look outside and see that the police have arrived. They are talking to her and the driver has to wait to see whats going on as she has already boarded and they need to see whats happening before they leave. The cops apparently do decide to take her somewhere and we leave about 20 minutes later than we where suppose to.
Because of this delay we are barely on time for my transfer and I have just enough time to pee before we board, not eat.
I get to Tucson having not eaten in 8 hours and dispirit. My mom feeds me taco bell and I go home.
