Biz partner has a day job at a hospital. He relayed this to me a couple of days ago.
Tech department got a laptop in from another department that had taken liquid damage. Motherboard was fried. After dispatching a replacement unit to the department, my biz partner called the department head:
BP: We had to replace the unit that was damaged, so could you please let your department know not to eat or drink over their laptops?
DH: I'm sure this was just a one-time accident. It won't happen again.
BP: Really? Because the keyboard and interior of the laptop were full of food crumbs.
DH: Well... are you sure it was food? It could have been crushed-up medication!
BP: It was food particles. Not medication.
DH: You can't be sure of that. I think...
BP: I'm pretty sure no one in your department has a prescription for 20cc's of Doritos. Please make sure they don't eat or drink over the laptops in the future. I have another call.
DH: *stammers*
BP: *hangs up* *drinks heavily*
