  • Dear Koodo: This is how SCs are made.

"here's a deal because you're an awesome customer" they said. so I order phone $100 off. they say "we use a courier and can't send to a po box" so I leave my street address in. then they use Canada Post

The phone gets returned because we don't have a mail box at our house

I try to update my address on their website WHICH HAS A FIELD FOR POST OFFICE BOXES. but it doesn't let you jsut enter an address, oh no, you have to choose your address from a list of ones they "found" none of which are mine.

in the meantime through email I'm told they can't just resend the phone but they've refunded it and I can call customer service to update my address and because of the issues they SHOULD waive the $10 FEE FOR CALLING THEM INSTEAD OF USING THE SITE

So I do, I call them and get the address changed and hang up. I go to order the phone and A. my credit balance was not refunded back like they said it would and B. the offer they said was good until january is no longer there

So I email them again about both issues and they respond back apologizing and refund my tab balance but say deals are only for a few days and to wait and see what they have for black friday (bullshit it said january I know it did)

So the amount is refunded, but the deals for black friday are already up and the only deal on that phone is a $200 gift only for new activations

so I''m frankly ticked off, I want the deal I was offered So I've called and left a message saying I want a credit for the deal I was offered

Now I have to sit around waiting for them to call me back

Yuck. I had the same problem.

Here's something that can help you in the future; the post office can now accept deliveries for you from other companies if you sign up for it. It has to go to a somewhat different address; you'll have to run to the post office and ask them for details.

oh the post office wouldn't have been a problem if I'd known in advance and been able to put in my PO Box where I take my mail. it's because of their lying website I didn't know that.

we didn't even discuss their hold playlist. "we're all in this together" "Rocking around the clock" "no one" "wild things" "take a chance on me" (yes abba) "the look of love" and then it lead into...... TAAAAAAAAAKKKKEEEEE OOOOONNNNNN MMMMMMMMMEEEEE

ok I got through, they tried to reapply the deal and when it didn't work they gave me credit. a slightly higher credit than the deal was actually (by like 10-20 bucks I think). so with the credit instead of a specific offer I might get the next phone up but it's resolved.

I've found putting Box *** in the same part of the street address gets past the "no post office box rule"..just as long as you don't put the P.O. part in. So far it has worked for me.

you're not understanding. it doesn't let you just type an address, you put in your address and then the site shows you a list of addresses asking you to pick yours from the list.

yes, I think it's referencing Canada Post's database or something like that. it actually doesn't even let me put in my proper street address.

I have a PO box (here in Australia) because the lazy lying scumbag delivery contractors for Australia Post fill out a ticket before they get to your house, sprint from their van to the door, stick the ticket in the door and sprint back to their van so they have disappeared by the time you get to the door.

THEN they take it to the furthest Post Office they can the next day. Not the one that is just down the road, but the one in the big shopping centre where you can't get a park and you have to show your ID before you get your stuff.

So I got a PO Box, then some bastard websites won't take a PO Box as the address. Even though they send it through Australia Post.

I had one halfwit tell me that he could not send to a PO Box as anything he had sent to a PO Box was lost, but things sent to a street address always turned up. Bullshit!

the worst part is having to scour the site to find out what they use for shipping and then there was thinkgeek's bullshit where ups actually passed it off to canada post.

I know this really shouldn't be necessary, but would it be an option to talk to Canada Post and get them to "forward" mail from your street address to your PO Box? I know some truck drivers and people with vacation homes who do it when they're not at home so they still get their mail, the only difference being that it would be a longer distance from their house to the PO Box than yours. That way, the company will ship to the street address, if it goes through a courier then it arrives correctly, but if it goes through Canada Post it'll just get sent to the PO Box.

I know (in the US at least) it's pretty hard to get rid of your physical mailbox. My parents have been trying for some time, because they're out in the boonies and anything inside will be stolen, or the whole box will get whacked by a car or baseball bat. But some places absolutely insist on a physical box, not a P.O. Box. It's hard to get some companies to switch addresses, too. I remember a company did some work on my parents house, and my mom made sure the billing address was the P.O. Box. After a few months the company called wondering why they hadn't paid. My mom said "I never got a bill, and I totally forgot." Turns out that they sent the bill to the physical mailbox, and it was never received.
