  • Well, excuuuuuuse me for trying to make a living and pay rent!

I put in a work order request last week on stuff in my apartment. I indicated that I'm ok with them coming in while I'm not there, but please let me know a date on the bathroom medicine cabinet so I could take the stuff out the night before so it wouldn't be in the way. (Really I am also trying to protect my stuff because the manager/handyman is like a bull in a china shop.)

I never see the on-site managers anymore because they work the same hours I do. So I put my email in the request and they have my phone number. But they always want to stop people on the way out, I guess. He did that this morning. I had to go through the muddy grass in my heels because he was blocking the sidewalk with his golf cart. And he tried to ask me when they could do the work as I was literally running to my car because I was in a hurry. I mean, you could see me going as fast as I could in pumps. I called out that I couldn't stop because I had to run to work and he got all pissy and said "Now, see--that's the problem!!" I used to be home a lot, but things change. What does he want me to do, quit so I can be home all day like Blondie? I should move out so they can have at it and fix allllll the things.

Seriously, call me. Or email me. The management company is trying to go digital anyway! I put the request in online, duh.

Tell him you've quit your job and are going on social assistance so you can be there 24/7 in case he ever decides to, you know, actually stop in and do some WORK ...

Nah, don't do that. It's a guarantee that nothing will ever get done again. Or the 'bull in the china shop' will really live up to his name.

Just try to let it roll off your back. It's his problem, not yours.

I'd empty it out, email him at midnight and say, "NOW... No... NOW! No... maybe now?"
If I make no sense, I apologize. I'm constantly interrupted by an actual toddler.

Completely OT. The maintenance guys here do that all the time with the golf carts. It's annoying as hell because there's grass or rocks they could park them in. But no, they have to block the damned sidewalk!

Sometime when you're wearing non-dressy clothes climb right through the golf cart instead of going around. See how many times you can do this before they get the hint.
Figers are vicious I tell ya. They crawl up your leg and steal your belly button lint.

            I'm a case study.

Quick call to the Department of Justice ADA Division could fix that. You know if you wanted to (things you learn if hubby uses a wheelchair).
