    I'm citing myself

    as a sighting. I did the unthinkable. I did what used to drive me NUTS at my old store. The person who watches the SCOs stands next to the register that is closest to them because it's a bit cramped up front. I walked up to the register and started putting my stuff down without even checking the light! The lane wasn't open. I have become an SC.

    Brain farts happen.
    SC territory starts when the individual starts raising a stink about the machine not working, "I have to go", *Your hated entitlement phrase here*, etc. while insisting that the world stop and fix the problem created by the brain fart. (If the brain was actually involved in said action)

      You're only an SC if you then insisted they open the lane and serve you, and/or demanded all your shopping free for the inconvenience caused. Until then, you're just a regular dumb human like the rest of us
