I go to a restaurant (not fast food) to order food to go. The fish baskets come with a 2oz container of cole slaw. I order a pint of cole slaw. I see the waitress get from the tray of cole slaws several 2 oz containers of slaw and open them up and dump them in the empty pint. I was thinking, "should't the cole slaw come from a big plastic conainer or a big bag of cole slaw?"
This wasn't a fast food restaurant, where they ran out of pints. I assume a fast food has pre-packed sides. Like KFC proably receives their mash potatoes, corn, mac and cheese, etc, already packed in the proper containers.
I was expecting another waitress or a cook tell her off but no one saw what she did.
I could be wrong about how things work in a restaurant, I never worked in a restaurant, just did food demos. But I read in stories about restaurants and how they do stuff.
