Does it count if the upset customer hails from 600 years ago?
Whilst reading a biography of Katherine Howard, this gem comes up from her father Edmund, written to the Governor of Calais' wife. She had prescribed him a medicine for gallstones, which had worked but seemed to have some unfortunate side-effects...
From the pen of Mr.Howard himself...
'Madame,so it is I have this night after midnight taken your medicine, for the which I heartily thank you.It hath done me much good and hath caused the stone to break so that now I void much gravel.
But for all that, your said medicine hath done me little good honestly for it made me piss my bed this night, for the which my wife hath soundly beaten me,saying it is children's parts to piss their bed.
Ye have made me such a pisser that I dare this day go not abroad, wherefore I beseech you to make mine excuse to my Lord and the Treasurer, for I shall not be able to be with you this day at dinner.'
