Once more I am reminded why I don't shop at the sucky Wal-Mart near our home.
I stopped by to pick up some items for us, shampoo and soap. I figured it might be a quick stop, and for the most part it was. Until I got to the checkouts that is.
The place was packed. You would have though it was Christmas, it was that packed. I found what I thought might be the shortest line and got in. A woman ahead of me was talking to her child, saying "back up, back up". As far as I knew, she was telling the child to back up so she could get the rest of her items out of the cart (this is important in a bit).
It was then I noticed that another woman was backing her cart up. I was thinking that she might be going to another lane, which a lot of other people were doing. No, instead, she goes and wedges herself in between my cart and the other cart ahead of me. She was so intent on getting in there that she ass bumped my card, causing the handle to hit me hard in the stomach. I let out a yelp, holding my stomach.
Cutting Lady: Back up! I'm getting in here.
Me: No, you're cutting and you just hurt me! I'll be lucky if I don't get bruise!
CL: She (pointing to woman who had told child to back up) said to back up because I'm getting in line here!
It should be important at this time to also note that it was also loud in the store, so if she was talking to me, she did a piss poor job of getting my attention.
Me: As far as I'm concerned, she was talking to her child and you've cut in line. She made no effort to get my attention whatsoever. That is not my fault.
CL: I did not cut in line! She told you I was getting in line!
About this time a manager type person walks by and hears the ensuing argument. He took me over to customer service to check me out. If I knew that St. Ann police didn't take their sweet time responding to calls, I'd have asked for them to call so I could file an assault charge against the woman. They are so not worth dealing with.
I'm still sore and I hope I don't develop a bruise.
