  • You cut!

Once more I am reminded why I don't shop at the sucky Wal-Mart near our home.

I stopped by to pick up some items for us, shampoo and soap. I figured it might be a quick stop, and for the most part it was. Until I got to the checkouts that is.

The place was packed. You would have though it was Christmas, it was that packed. I found what I thought might be the shortest line and got in. A woman ahead of me was talking to her child, saying "back up, back up". As far as I knew, she was telling the child to back up so she could get the rest of her items out of the cart (this is important in a bit).

It was then I noticed that another woman was backing her cart up. I was thinking that she might be going to another lane, which a lot of other people were doing. No, instead, she goes and wedges herself in between my cart and the other cart ahead of me. She was so intent on getting in there that she ass bumped my card, causing the handle to hit me hard in the stomach. I let out a yelp, holding my stomach.

Cutting Lady: Back up! I'm getting in here.
Me: No, you're cutting and you just hurt me! I'll be lucky if I don't get bruise!
CL: She (pointing to woman who had told child to back up) said to back up because I'm getting in line here!

It should be important at this time to also note that it was also loud in the store, so if she was talking to me, she did a piss poor job of getting my attention.

Me: As far as I'm concerned, she was talking to her child and you've cut in line. She made no effort to get my attention whatsoever. That is not my fault.
CL: I did not cut in line! She told you I was getting in line!

About this time a manager type person walks by and hears the ensuing argument. He took me over to customer service to check me out. If I knew that St. Ann police didn't take their sweet time responding to calls, I'd have asked for them to call so I could file an assault charge against the woman. They are so not worth dealing with.

    I'm still sore and I hope I don't develop a bruise.

The only one that might even be marginally worse is the one in Ferguson. It's always the smaller ones that seem to suck badly. The larger ones, like Manchester and Chesterfield (which is now a Super Walmart) are much better.

I know I should have one to the Manchester one since it's the next closest, but I wasn't up to driving that far. That and all my errands were around the same area too.

Good grief, how hard did she have to push your cart to cause that much pain? That wasn't an "ass bump", that was an ass slam. What a rude little....

Good thing the manager took you aside. That seems a very intelligent thing to do, since he immediately diffused the situation (even if you were still sore and understandably angry) by taking care of you the customer.

I gotta wonder though. If you'd called the police and they actually showed up quickly, how would this woman react? I can see her "ass-bumping" a cop to show how it wouldn't cause injury and get herself hauled off for the effort. But then, I like to dream

Seeing as there is no mark, but my stomach is still a little sore where she ass smacked me, I'm not sure how it'd be handled.

St. Ann Police and hell just about any Police department doesn't show unless there's someone shoplifting enough for them to care or the donuts are on sale. I have a very bad view of the police force in this county because according to them I had to have brought the ID Theft issue I had when I first moved here on myself several years back. I HAD to have given someone my social so they could get a 15k car loan and apply for a 20k limit card in my name.

All in the middle of friggin' Illinois where I didn't know a damned soul.

          Right.

            I. Hate. That. Wal-Mart. I was down that way a few weeks ago. My god, do they need a psychiatrist on scene to examine every kook? I heard people screaming about the lights to one guy who thought that the tiles were going to melt. Obviously the guy complaining about the tiles had problems, so i forgive him.

Then there are the checkers. The one i got was a bit "off"

Right, since last time I checked, this isn't Fratching, so generalizations like this won't continue on in this thread. Got that, everyone? Police aren't the point of this thread.
