So, yesterday I decided to take a drive up into Calhoun county, IL. I used the Golden Eagle ferry to cross the mighty mississippi into Illinois. Also going over, was this old couple. When it came time to pay for the crossing, what I was about to hear, just made me want to scream DUH!
FO-Ferry operator
OM- Old man
OM- How much does the trip cost? Do you take credit cards?
FO- $11.00 please, no we do not take credit cards.
OM- I thought this ferry was free. (no, dumbass did you not see the sign that said TOLL ferry to illinois?)
FO- If you like, when we get over to Illinois, you can run to Kinders and use their atm.
OM- No, I don't know how to use one.
FO- then we cannot let you cross.
OM- damn it.
M- Here, you can have this.
OM- thanks, now my wife and I can go to Illinois.
FO- Wow, didn't think I'd see an act of generosity from a young man.
M- No, I just wanted to get across the river, but I was also feeling generous.
So, we got across, and 15 minutes later I was eating at Kinders.
