  • Poor Management

Not a sucky employee but sucky management. Today we have been having very high and cold winds. We stopped in Target to get a couple of things. We decided to go through the garden center because it is usually not as crowded at faster. We go to pay and the wind was so hard that it was coming through strong though the holes in the wiring around the garden center. The poor cashier was bundled up in a sweatshirt but was still freezing (at least it looked that way by the fact that he was shivering). The lady in front of us asked him if was going to be able to get out of there soon and he said no I have to be out here until 7:00 tonight and that he had been there since 10:00 that morning. It was bad enough that my mom commented on that he could probably sue for poor working conditions.

My store's lawn and garden center will be opening pretty soon--in a week or two. And we're still only reaching the upper 30s or low 40s for highs. At night it drops below freezing.

Thus, at night people have to go outside and cover all the plants so they don't die.

I can't see why we can't start lawn and garden until the end of April or beginning of May and close it in late July or August. But if it makes sense....

yea... well management @ stores starts things way to early.

I mean halloween stuff was up around here well... in AUGUST. and Christmas stuff will be up within a week of halloween being over (if not before).

Way too early indeed, as shown in today's Retail comic.
