This is a self-sighting. I'm so sorry.
It's been a rough week. I wanted some comfort food, and for now, comfort food = gyros. There's a place 10 - 15 minutes from here, across the street from a grocery store. I could eat my gyro, do my crossword, then head across the street for some nice flowers.
The place used to close at nine, so I left about 7:30. Once I was there, I discover the hours had been changed -- now they closed at 8. But I really wanted my gyro.
I walked in, and the cashier informed me that the dining room would be closing in 15 minutes. I said out loud, "Maybe I should go somewhere else" -- the sandwich shop next door was open until 9, I knew for a fact. But the cashier said, "No, it's fine."
So I ordered, sat down, and paged through the paper. I got my food at about 5 till, and ate it as fast as I could. I left at 8:05. All the chairs had been stacked. However, one other family was still eating.
The food was quite tasty.
