  • Sucky Subway worker

I went to a Subway around last year and this happened:

ME: Can I have a 6 inch TURKEY BREAST AND HAM on Honey Oat.
Subway Worker: Ok *he puts the ham in the sandwich*
ME: Oh and turkey breast too.
    SW: Oh that'll be extra.
ME: I said turkey breast and ham though. *It's even on the menu so even if he didn't hear me, it shouldn't be extra price*.
SW: You didn't say turkey breast and ham. *Said it to me with an attitude*.

I forgot what else happened, I think I paid the correct price. I don't know why he had to be nasty about it though. I clearly said turkey breast and ham. He almost charged me extra even though it's already on the menu.

Was I being sucky or was he?

he could have replied more nicely.
"O I'm sorry I only heard ham. So turkey and ham, and what kind of cheese do you want?"

there's always a nice way to say something... the mean stuff should only come once the customer has proven to be a pain in the ass SC.

Definitely he was. I don't know the prices there, but if a turkey and ham is cheaper than a ham with extra turkey, then he should have, even if you'd said ham only and then added turkey, simply offered you the turkey and ham price.

And hey, even if he'd been right, customer service pretty much dictates the server simply apologise for mis-hearing and correct it to the customer's request. Especially since it's not made yet. If you'd gotten to the checkout and then said he'd forgotten the turkey, that would have made you sucky.

Being 'nice' to people, even if they're 'wrong', is part of the job ... to certain limits.

Sometimes my wife and I order the same sub from the menu but with different bread, cheese, salad, etc. Every time we get charged for one footlong instead of two six inchers.

I've had them do that too. I've also been charged for sub of the day when it's not, but similar.
