Before I entered the Library world I spent almost 20 years as a group administrator for a major life and health insurer. Part of my job was to review late entry applications. These were health questionnaires filled out and signed by a physician. I couldn't approve the things. My job was simply to make sure that all relevant information was provided. I then passed it on to another department that made the decision to approve or not.
One set off a red light in my mind and I sent it off with a note. Everything looked just fine but the Doctor's signature was a very clearly written, "E. Coli".
