  • Sighting from my vacation

While I was away on vacation in Atlanta, we took the kids to a McDonald's for a late bite to eat.

The boys were a bit confused, because the American McDonald's menu was slightly different than the one we have in our little town in Canada, so they were taking a bit of time to decide what to order. Also, they were at that "so hungry that everything sounds good" point.

Now, things were very slow behind the counter, as it took forever for our food to come up, I will admit. There seemed to be only one guy taking orders so there was a bit of a lineup, and it was taking a long time for the food to be prepared.

Just as one of our guys was ordering, this chick came in and stood behind. She started sighing because it was taking so long for the boys to order their food.
As I was standing, waiting for my salad, I heard her order. She asked to have her burger cooked twice.

It was close to 10 minutes for me to get my salad and iced coffee, and as I was heading back to the table, her food was finally brought up.

As I was sitting down, I was talking to my friends and said, "That lady at the counter is a bitch. Did you hear her sighing because the boys were taking so long to order? She just asked to have her burger cooked twice. How much do you want to bet she bitches about it?"

Just as I said that, she started unwrapping her burger at the counter, and then she started ranting at the guy that it was undercooked.
She was bitching and carrying on about how long it took and that they couldn't even get it right.

We could hear the manager yelling from the counter, "Burn it this time." (We all laughed.)

Seriously, I know slow service is upsetting when you're hungry, and not getting food the way you ordered it is annoying, but some people are just so stupid.

I can see being upset by slow service, but to ask to have your burger cooked twice and then bitch about how long it took, and then complain that it wasn't cooked enough...that's just being an ass, in my opinion.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

Cooked twice? It's not like those ever come even close to being undercooked. Did she really just want a charcol briquette I wonder?

She probably figured that as we're carbon based lifeforms she might as well take it on in it's purest form...

I was seeing a guy (very breifly) who liked his food pretty much charcoal. Blech.

Very slight topic hijack-Do the Canadian McD's still have pizza? That was one of my favorite things to do when I went to Sherbrooke with my parents-visit McD's and order a cheese pizza. Mmm...

Some of the McD's stateside still do this AFAIK since McDonald's owns the Donato's Pizza chain.

I know for a time there were a few in Columbus, OH that had pizza. Not sure if they still do since I haven't been that way for a while.

This reminds me of a story that used to be on here a few site revisions ago, about a guy who always called to order a pizza 'well done'. A pizza's just 'done', but they apparently refused to tip and would harass the driver if it wasn't 'well done'. So the pizza place literally /burned/ the pizza the next time, shrinking it by 2 inches in diameter and making it look like a lump of carbon. The customer's response? 'You're getting there.' Pizza is pizza, fast food is fast food, if you want crazy custom orders make it yourself.

Hi all, new to posting, not to reading.. (Am laid-off, so no SC for now)

McDonalds sold Donatos back to its founder 2 or 3 years ago. For less than they paid for it I believe...

They were also trying to sell Boston Market and Chipotle, but found no takers...
