Dunno if this is a sighting or just a Brain Burp, please feel free to move the thread if necessary, dear mods.
Saw this at a toy store last Friday:
(Background: The toy store is located in a big department store, 6 floors high.
I'm standing in line waiting to pay for a teddy bear for Lil' Zel.)
I notice that the line is at a standstill because the customer in front wants to pay for a 50 DKK (£5.50 or $6.25) purchase with a HUGE bill (1000 DKK = equivalent to approx. £110 or $160, the biggest bill that exists in Danish currency).
The cashier explains that her till is almost empty because another dumbnut had paid with a big bill too and is waiting for a supervisor to get the time to get some change from the money box in the basement (the toy store is at the top floor).
A lady behind the customer kindly offers to change the 1000 DKK bill into smaller 100 DKK bills, since she had just been to the bank. The customer in front thanks heartily, makes the change, pays with a 100 DKK bill and is on her merry way.
Now the kind lady who changed the money to get the line moving gets her purchases rung up, it totals to a bit over 100 DKK. She wants to pay with...
...wait for it...
...yes, exactly, the VERY same 1000 DKK bill that she knew the cashier couldn't give change back on.
Luckily for me another till was opened, and the cashier was very relieved when I chose to pay with a debit card
