  • Helping The Elderly But Infuriating Me (language)

Not just me, I'm sure I'm not the only person who has had to deal with this.

Not sure if it's a large corporation or just a local thing, but we have a service called Tender Care Transport, I think it's like a transportation service for elderly people who cannot drive or get around, to take them to the doctor and whatnot. Their vehicles look kind of like fat short buses, or really small city buses.

Anyway, where I live, there are two entrances to get in....one is very small, one car length wide, and it's like a sneaky back way entrance. The other is the main entrance, by all the mailboxes and newspaper stand.

This morning I was coming home from work, I had already passed the sneak entrance, and I saw the Tender Care Transport bus was going to turn into the main entrance.

Well, he did turn into it. Then stopped. Yes, totally blocking anyone from getting in or out while the driver got out and decided to get a newspaper and start reading it! Yup, he turned the bus off. Great.

I was right behind him. My car is not a klunker or noisy rustbox, but it's not the best running car...there was no way he didn't hear it running, because he had put the bus in park and turned the engine off before he got out.

He gets his paper and actually has the audacity to look my way, see me sitting there, and start OPENING the paper and quickly skim through parts of it.

I obnoxiously started honking at him. I know, not the most mature thing....but seriously?! PEOPLE FUCKING LIVE HERE and use this entrance to get in and out. You may be doing the elderly a HUGE favor, but that does NOT give you the right to park your fucking bus in our entry way and then turn it off, get out, and take a small newspaper break!!!

I looked behind me. Great, there was a car behind me....no chance of throwing it in reverse and backing up and going in the other way.

    I continued to honk.

He then got back into the bus....the OTHER way...as in, the way that passengers enter. And he bends over and picks up what looks like crumbled up paper or rubbish of some sort....and then he shuts the door.

    What the fucking hell?!

Then he finally gets back into his driver's seat and moves the bus out of the way, and then takes a right towards the building that Sheriff lives in. Funny, I don't remember any immobile old people living in that building.....but then again, he could be going to the building across from that one.

I couldn't help but be nosy. I got right out of my car after I parked, and saw that the bus wasn't at ANY of the complexes. Nope, he took the sneak way out.

That fucker. He didn't even have to stop here....he just came to get a paper and block the fucking entrance way, even when he could SEE that cars were waiting to get in.

I'm pretty tempted tomorrow morning to look up their number in the phone book and give them a piece of my mind. They have the phone numbers on the back of their vehicles, but I was too angry to try to memorize it.

You may be helping out the elderly and doing the community a very good service, but that does not entitle you to be a fucking jerk!

You totally should. He probably figured no one would call him on his obnoxious behavior just because of the bus he drives.

Now I'm curious. Is this a typical newspaper box where you put in a coin to get a paper, or did he steal someone's paper? Because I got an image in my head of him nosing through someone's mailbox and swiping there paper.

Wow sometimes roadrage is completley justified. I would report this guy, and make sure to mention that next time he illegally BLOCKS traffic you will call the police.

Fire hazard, much? What if an ambulance or squad car or fire truck had to get in the main entrance in a hurry for an emergency? Yeah, I'd report him, too.

Pardon my lack of clarity, it's like a vending machine for newspapers, lol....you stick your money in, then I assume you push or pull on something, then you can open it and get a paper out.

Figures. This ALWAYS happens when you're looking for an address and the street seems empty or situations like this. I bet they were just coming to a complete stop too when you looked behind you.
