So, since my local hobby shop closed down, I have been left without Wargaming Goodness, anyway, today I was going around town and something made me stop, that something was the ubiquitous GAMES WORKSHOP sign.

Anyway, happy as a schoolboy on christmas, I enter the place and start looking around, that's when Stoner Guy appears, he heads straight to the guy at the desk, well, the guy meant to be at the desk but is instead sat next to a wargame table happily painting away at a tank

Stoner Guy: "What's this Free stuff?" (No idea, might have been on a sign I dunno)

Store Guy: "You buy a Starter kit and we teach you how to paint"

    Stoner Guy: "How Much?"

    Store Guy: "£50"

Stoner Guy leaves, obviously dismayed at not getting free stuff.

Store Guy: (To me) "And that's how you deal with Stoners"

The guy at the shop was awesome, although I did have to tell him off (jokingly) for calling me a hobby wraith, I told him off for accusing me of being incorporeal

Naw, that's where you smack him on the shoulder and ask "Did you feel that?" When he says yes, you say "Then I'm not incorporeal and therefore not a wraith."

The Staff I've seen so far at my GW are AWESOME, went in today to buy a squad, ended up having the guy give me a basic learning attempt at playing. My first ever in my life time that I've played it

            Him: 5 Terminators, 2 5 man squads, 1 Dred.

Me: Warboss & Bodyguards, 2 Ork Boys.

And.....I WON! Decimated the Terminators, ripped off the multi melta of the dred and then the next turn destroyed the dred and at that point the guy decided to speed it up (as more than likely the only thing left standing would have been his dred by having my Warboss and his Dred face off, I blew up the Dred, which took my warboss with it in a blaze of glory.

I lost 1 Boy to the Dred, 2 Boyz to the Termies and another 2 to one of the squads that charged my while i was ganging up on the Termies.

GW makes great figures and good games, but don't buy your modelling gear from them. Buy your glue, tools, flock and other stuff from somewhere else - theirs is horribly overpriced.

Their paint reputedly comes in pots that don't seal well so it dries up, so if you can get paint from another source, do so. (Although I've never used it personally).

Eh, i've had paint from them for well over 2 years, possibly even 3-4 the sprays still work and some of the paints dried up a little, but that was easily solved by watering them down like i should have done when the pots were half empty.

As for flock and glue etc, well, I can order that online, at something like 10% off what they normally retail at.

I pretty much have to stick to GW stuff cause there's no hobby shops or anything within a reasonable distance from me, plus if i do buy my stuff from GW, there's more chance of the store staying open.
