  • Please let me T-bone someone JUST this once...

    POLEASE

    Scene:
Dual lane road going north and south. Road had stop lights and turn signals at major intersections. LIghts are VERY clear when they light up.

So I am going south on said road and have to make a left turn on a major road for my delivery. before I get to the intersetion the light turns read and I pull into the left turn lane. As I am stopping, a car going north in the normal lanes also comes to a stop. there are NO cars in the northbound left turn lane. Finally my green left turn arrow pops up and I start into the intersection to begin my left turn. The north bound car (whose light SHOULD be red at this point) starts to enter the intersection. I keep going, thinking the person has jumped their light a bit early.

BUT NO NO NO this person just keeps going into the intersection and, it seem to me is fully intending to just run a red light.

If I had not stopped short I would have squarely T-boned their car.

Alll they did when they did notice that I was entereing the intersection was just wave their had at me and kept going.

If I would have hit the car I know that I would have been in the right as he was running a red light.

JUST ONCE POLEASE let me hit them. I need a new car anyway.
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

something similar happened to one of my associates once, only without the traffic light. he was making a left hand turn onto another road, facing up a hill. right as he made his turn a car going the opposite direction came *speeding* up over the hill and he in fact t-boned her.

the officer on the scene gave him the ticket for "not seeing his way clearly" and he had to go to court. Lucky for him the case was thrown out cos the cop put the "date of issue" (mil ID) instead of "date of birth". otherwise, he felt it would have been one he lost cos it was just word-against-word, except for damage his car inflicted on the other driver's.

Judge: according to these charges you're 1 year old. You don't look like a 1-year-old to me. Case dismissed.
