  • A journey fraught with peril...

Yesterday my mother arrived an hour late for her first doctor's appointment, and half an hour late for her second. Here is why:

-- 5 separate patches of road work spread across two counties, which is by far the most I have ever seen on a single day.

-- 1 logging truck that lost its load in front of us when it took a curve too fast

-- 3 slow tourists creeping along enjoying the sights at about 20 mph.

-- 1 tourist parked in the middle of the street in Chimney Rock Village, arm out the window, right blinker on, completely unconcerned that people were having to swerve around him into oncoming traffic to get by.

    It was a stressful day...
Drive it like it's a county car.

Oh, I'm sorry, do you live in my town now? No one here knows how to drive, either, and we have two seasons: winter and construction.
"Is it hot in here to you? It's very warm, isn't it?"--Nero, probably
