  • Napping in my parking spot

Late last night Hubs came home and said someone was parked in his spot and he had to borrow our neighbor's spot (neighbor is currently car-less and knows Hubs was using the parking spot). This morning when I got up to do the paper route (3:30am), I went out to see if the offending vehicle was still there.

I went outside and saw the car...and saw a head duck down as well. I went up to the car and saw a suspiciously person-shaped pile of blankets in the front seat. Hmm. I knocked on the window. I tried the door handle, but in a fit of intelligence this person had locked their doors. I kept knocking on the window, hard. Finally the guy emerged from his hiding spot.

    Guy: "Hmm?"
Me: "This isn't your spot. You need to move it."
Guy: "Why don't you just chill?"
Me: "Why don't you go park in your own spot?"
Guy: "Alright, alright, I'll move it."

I walk back to my porch. I see the guy duck back under his blanket.

Me: *back up to the car, pounding on the window*
    Guy: "I said chill!"
Me: "No, this isn't your parking spot. My husband needs to park here. When I said you need to move your car, I meant right now."
    Guy: "I forgot my keys."
Me: "Should I call you a tow truck then?"
    Guy: *sarcastically* "Yeah, would you?"

I went back inside. I was actually about to call the cops. The guy wasn't under the blankets when I first went out there; he was just sitting there creepily next to our back porch. He did start up his car and moved it, though. Hubs was able to park in his spot, and I made sure to lock the back door before I left for the route.

You had no idea what this assclown was up to. It was probably an innocent situation - perhaps he got locked out of the house (either accidentally or deliberately), maybe he's homeless, or any of a half-dozen other unfortunate causes. I don't know. But trying to hide when you looked his way?
THAT would have had all sorts of bells, whistles, and blinking red lights going off in my head. I'd have called the cops with a quickness. Guaranteed he wouldn't have given THEM static about moving.

Actually, he might not give them static about moving the vehicle, but more like, "Why you gotta pick on me?! I'm not doing nothing!" static. A move that usually ends in the vehicle being towed while he gets a nice pair of shiny bracelets.

Yep, I'd have called the cops and let them sort him out. I'd have stood on the porch and watched too, popcorn in hand.
If I make no sense, I apologize. I'm constantly interrupted by an actual toddler.

Trespassing. Back to the OP, that would have set off more red flags than I could count. I agree with calling the cops and letting them sort it out.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

Wouldn't surprise me if he took a shot and was sleeping it off. Probably should have called the cops... I'd bet cash money they would have found syringes in the guy's car.
