I recall posting about a year ago of driving with 10ft trailer like this when I was rear-ended at a red light. Guy argued he 'couldn't see' the trailer. He was on his phone at the time, we saw. The trailer is RED with 2-sets of lights on it, no cargo.
Again today, I'm at a red light in full sun. Suddenly *Bang-lurch!* And I see a very new looking VW-something car with a woman in full freak-out-face has run into my trailer. We get out (the roomates were with me). We're fine, undercarriage of my car is fine, trailer is fine. The spur that you hook ropes to at the back of the trailer, however, punched a nice little hole in her front bumper. At least the woman apologized over and over, asked if we were sure everything was ok, etc. She also said that she 'couldn't see the trailer.' Before we were hit the roomies noticed her talking pretty animatedly with the kids in her car.
I REALLY have to put those 4-foot posts with flags I got on the back of the trailer.
Funny, when we got back into traffic, the woman followed us to the store; I thought she had a bone to pick, but it turned-out we'd both been on our way to the same place and kept bumping into each-other in the isles, where she kept apologizing.
Still, one of these days I'm sure I'm going to get rear ended and it will cause damage to my car. It's 16years old and not getting any younger!
