  • Bus Suck on my Part

So I usually say thank you to every driver--well, most of the time. If S is in a hurry or looks like he's having a hard day I kind of leave him alone. Today to avoid the starers (really--they will bore holes in your head) I decided to take an alternate route and backtrack home from downtown. I like that area anyway.

I was behind teen boys getting on the bus and it seemed like the driver was sarcastically putting them down. I was annoyed they were taking so long, but more annoyed at how those boys were being treated. As I put put in my pass the driver said thank you and I admit I ignored him because I was disgusted. As I walked on he loudly repeated himself to make a point (his suck) and I said "You're welcome." It was snarky and I feel bad.

As I was getting off the bus (as were the boys) he said bye to them like they were old pals. He'd been teasing them good-naturedly and it appeared mean because of the sarcasm. I had been incensed because they were good kids, unlike some on the bus. I tried to kind of smile at him but no dice.

Talked to my "usual" driver; asked if he knew the other one. I told my buddy I felt bad. Maybe he'll put a bug in the other's ear. idk I never have the other guy as a driver so on the off chance I serve him at my store it might be akward. My own fault. *sigh*
"Is it hot in here to you? It's very warm, isn't it?"--Nero, probably

Hay don’t beat yourself up over it. You learned a valuable lesson. "Not everything is what it appears." You assumed the Driver was just being an ass clown, I am betting because you see so much of that in the world.

If you see that Driver again sit near him and explain if you feel you must. If not just learn from this and move forward.

I like the fact that you are not so desensitized that you would even notice what he was doing. Too many people in this world are wrapped up in their own little bubbles they don’t care about others or how they feel.
