Imagine, if you will, a parking lot driveway leading to a busy street. The makers didn't want people trying to turn accross traffic here where there is no light, so they installed a concrete island in the driveway that only allows you to turn in from the flow of traffic, or leave by joining the flow of traffic.
Got that image in your head? Good. Moving on...
Now picture a lady on the phone in her car. Lady and car are in the parking lot heading for the above exit. Said car is a sporty little thing, with low groud clearance. Lady turns car onto the driveway, but, alas, cuts the turn to tight.
Lady, cell phone, car, and concrete driveway island meet.
Cue me driving by on my way home just in time to see sporty little car driven by befuddled lady on her phone stuck dead-center on the driveway island where the car's low ground clearance is now holding it prisoner half atop the concrete. I only wish I had my camera with me so I could post it to failblog.
