So. My roommate told me this gem this morning. He was one his way home last night from babysitting, 3:00AM. He was driving a road that's posted 40MPH. He has a small compact car. He was in the right-hand lane when an old bronco-style car pulled-up alongside his left and attempted to merge into his lane...where he was. He honked, because the guy in the Bronco (large shaved-headed guy) wasn't even looking to see what he was doing. The guy jerked-back into his lane, dropped speed, and pulled-in behind my roommate. My roommate figured the guy had just had a brain burp...Until the bronco edged-up and the guy began repeatedly hitting my roommate's bumper! Light taps he said, but enough that he could definetely feel them in such a small car. He sped-up from the guy and pulled-into the nearest parking lot. The bronco kept going, and unfortunately my roommate couldn't get the plate. He called the police, but there wasn't a whole lot they could do, so it's really up to his insurance now.
I personally would have lane-changed, dropped behind and gotten the guy's plate. I asked my roommate why he didn't. He said he figured the guy looked like he was 'out to start something' and didn't want to give him any reason to do anything more drastic. Not to mention in this area it's a 50-50 chance the guy could have a weapon. Funny, my roommate is a pretty big guy but VERY non-confrontational.
Bronco guy needs to be welded-shut in a hot closet with a hungry rat.
